Picking a template

The Apply Template field lists every enabled template for the current project and work item type. The list opens instantly and is cached for the session.

What happens

  • With live apply set up, the form fills as soon as you pick (date smart values already resolved).
  • If the pair has a default template, it is pre-selected and applied automatically — filling only empty fields.
  • On submit, context smart values resolve and any child hierarchy is created and parented under the new work item.
