Sections

• Name — edited inline as the page title.
• Where it applies — targeting (see Scoping templates).
• What it fills in — the field prefills (see Prefilled fields).
• Child work items — the hierarchy the template creates (see Child hierarchies).
• Settings — default toggle, category label, and owner.

Saving

Saving validates the template (including any smart values) and publishes it to every matching Create screen. Broad scopes covering many projects publish in the background over a few seconds.
