Setting up live apply

What live apply does

With live apply, choosing a template fills the Create form's fields in front of you — before the work item is created — so you can review and adjust everything first.

One-time setup per project

1. Go to Project settings → Screens for the project.
2. Add the Apply Template field (created automatically by the app) to the Create screen.

Supported projects

• Company-managed projects: fully supported.
• Team-managed projects: live apply is not available; templates still apply right after creation via the post-create path.

How the pieces fit

• The picker field lists templates for the current project and work item type.
• Date smart values (such as {{today}}) resolve live on the form.
• Context smart values (such as {{parent.key}}) and child hierarchies are completed immediately after the work item is created.
