Roles
The Permissions page (Jira admins only) assigns three app roles to Jira groups and/or individual people:
Role | Allows |
|---|---|
Manage templates | Create, edit, duplicate, enable/disable templates — and delete the ones they own. |
Delete any template | Delete templates regardless of owner. |
Import & export | Use backup/restore. |
Rules
- Jira administrators always hold every role — you can never lock yourself out.
- With no configuration, the app behaves as admin-only (the pre-permissions behaviour).
- Roles control the management app only. Applying templates on the Create screen is open to everyone — that's the product.
- Enforcement is server-side; the app's navigation and buttons also adapt to what the signed-in person can do.
